The Roodt Family, pioneers in the restaurant industry, established their business in 2013, starting with the acquisition of the restaurant at Jasmyn Plaasprodukte in Hartbeespoort. Their success expanded as they began Die Windmeul Wafelhuis, The Windmill, and Die Opstal Eethuys.

In 2021, they built and opened Kremetart Bistro on their own land, showcasing their dedication to family-owned ventures. Wikus Roodt, the eldest son, manages the restaurants alongside his father, while Elize, the mother, played a significant role in management for many years. Johan Roodt operates in the insurance industry with his youngest son Eric. Anna Roodt, the daughter, channels her passion for animals into Paoli Dog Park, located on the same premises as Kremetart Bistro.

The family’s collaboration reflects Johan’s commitment to providing for his children, and Wikus’s culinary studies underline his passion for the restaurant industry.

In 2013, Wikus Roodt graduated from LIS Hotel School with a culinary arts degree. His enduring passion for the food industry sparked during his academic years and has stayed resolute. As the Managing Director of Die Windmeul Wafelhuis, The Windmill restaurant, Die Opstal Eethuys, and Kremetart Bistro in Hartbeespoort, Wikus is a dedicated advocate for always being present at his establishments.
